Piano, Voice
Lynette Wiens has been a piano teacher at Zomac for 2 years. She's taught for around 40 years, with many of her students earning college scholarships. She, herself, earned college scholarships in piano, voice, and oboe, all while enjoying 6 years of intense study under a concert pianist. In college, she traveled with a singing group throughout the Central Midwestern states and Canada, also accompanying several other small groups. After getting married, she taught piano in Illinois, where she developed an entire method of taking Hymns from the church Hymnal and turning them into formal Hymn Arrangements, later having a friend copyright her system after 3 years.
Following her life in Illinois, she moved to Minnesota, where she taught even more students! 9 of the 13 churches' pianists in the little town she stayed in are still her students! She also lived in Denver, where she consistently taught around 50 to 55 piano and vocal students each week. She also sang in a choral group of 150 voices that performed with the Denver Symphony Orchestra during this time.
Lynette has taught students ranging from 4 to 94. One of her students started with Lynette in 5th grade, working all the way up to high school and eventually earning 4 completely free years at Juilliard School in New York. She has had 17 students earn college scholarships, who are now all teaching at music conservatories, music schools, etc.
Lynette always holds 2 recitals: a Christmas recital in December that's more for fun, and a Spring one, which shows more of what her students can do. We strongly encourage all of her students to take advantage of the golden opportunity and share their talents!
